Spray Foam Insulation Removal in Basingstoke

Basingstoke is the largest town in north Hampshire and the furthest major centre from our Southampton base, but it's a direct run up the M3 and a regular destination for us. MG SOURCE removes spray foam insulation from lofts across Basingstoke, Chineham, Old Basing and the surrounding villages, by hand and with all the waste taken away.

North Hampshire covered via the M3 · Insured up to £5,000,000 public liability

An expanded town full of trussed roofs

Few towns in the south changed as much as Basingstoke in the twentieth century. A compact market town became an expanded town in the 1960s and 70s, leaving ring after ring of estates: Popley, Brighton Hill, Buckskin and Winklebury from the expansion years, Chineham, Hatch Warren and Beggarwood from the 1980s onwards, and large new-build areas around the edges today. Trussed-rafter roofs dominate, with thin timbers close together, so foam is slow to remove because every web and chord needs brushing. Older stock in the centre and in villages like Old Basing, Oakley and Overton has cut roofs and older timbers.

Why we don't rush a trussed roof

The foam is peeled off by hand, then each timber is wire brushed individually until the wood is clean. Truss timbers are slender and the nail plates at the joints are easily damaged, so avoiding power tools and solvents is the right call. Everything we remove is bagged and taken off site.

Working to a Basingstoke exchange date

Basingstoke's commuter market moves quickly and survey deadlines are tight. If spray foam has been flagged on a homebuyer report or valuation, we can usually quote from photos and a rough roof measurement and schedule the removal around your exchange date.

Not sure why the lender cares? Our guide to spray foam and mortgages explains how surveyors and lenders treat spray foam.

From £28 per m² plus VAT, including bagging and disposal. Trussed roofs take longer because there are more timber surfaces to brush, and the quote reflects that. See the cost guide for examples.

Only the time it takes. There are more timbers to clean, so we allow for that, but the method is the same and the result is a roof a surveyor can inspect properly.

As early as you can if you're working to a sale date. We confirm a start date with the quote, and most jobs are completed within four weeks of booking.

Yes. Foam in a newer house is usually a previous owner's addition and comes off the same way. We take extra care around breathable membranes.
